Pink Floyd - Amsterdam - 29 April 1967 - Nico van der Stam [Holland] - Kodak 6x6cm Slide
[9558] Holland 6x6cm Hasselblad/Rolleiflex slide, taking during Pink Floyd's first every visit to The Netherlands on April 29, 1967. Dutch photographer Nico van der Stam was most likely tipped off that the band as recording Arnold Layne for broadcast on the Dutch television programme Fanclub. He managed to take photos during the actual recording at the studio on the Leidsekade near the Leidseplein in Amsterdam. Following the recording he took the band out nearby to shoot his legendary pictures in the small park Leidsebosje, the Leidseplein bridge and the American Hotel. Photos that have become iconic in many ways.
Nico van der Stam was a keen businessman and sold his photos to agencies overseas. In order to save his original slides professionals like Nico van der Stam made duplicates using the top of the range Kodak EPR 6017 that was mostly in use for portrait photography. This actual slide taken from his original was made in the 1970s for the UK based London Features International with whom he worked on a regular basis. This slide is from that archive and it’s the first time these are on the market. The slide is housed in its original paper frame. Small signs of wear due to age but in glorious condition.
Sold without copyright (which remains at the Maria Austria Institute).
